Theatre buffs treated to meaningful plays

Mysore/Mysuru: Theatre buffs were treated to different genres of plays at Bahuroopi National Theatre Festival in Rangayana and Kalamandira premises yesterday.

While some enjoyed comedy, the others preferred to watch play that depicted rural environment and social evils.

The Kannada play ‘Black Out’ staged by Rangasiri Productions, Bengaluru, at Kirurangamandira took the audience on a comedy ride. Bengali play ‘Kittankhola’ staged by Thakurpukur Ichheymoto, Kolkata, at Bhoomigeeta in Rangayana premises showcased the life of rural India.

Meanwhile, the Kannada play ‘Kariya Devara Huduki’ staged by Samudaya, Bengaluru, at Vanaranga and the Malayalam play ‘Chillara Samaram’ by artistes of Little Earth School of Theatre, Kerala, at Kalamandira also received appreciation from the audience.
