Theatre camps make women self-reliant: Jayashree

February 21, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: B. Jayashree, former Rangayana Director and veteran theatre artiste, opined that training in theatre will make women self-reliant and helps develop general knowledge.

She was speaking at the 2nd show of ‘Roopa Roopagalanu Daati,’ a Kannada play staged by Sanchalana women’s theatre troupe during the valedictory of training programme for women at Mini Theatre in Kalamandira here on Wednesday last.

Jayashree said, it was happy to know that Deepak Mysore of Sanchalana has organised training programme for women. Men have to make little sacrifice when it comes to training for women. Their participation in such programmes would help them to understand what was going on in society, she added.

Department of Archaeology, Museums and Heritage Commissioner B.R. Poornima, budding artistes R.G. Rashmi and Naveen were present.
