Janapara Utsava-2021 in city on Feb. 22

Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Kannada and Culture, under its special unit scheme, is organising ‘Janapara Utsava-2021’ at Mini Theatre in Kalamandira here on Feb. 22. 

District in-Charge Minister S.T. Somashekar will inaugurate the programme at 9.30 am. MLA L. Nagendra will preside. MPs V. Sreenivasa Prasad, Pratap Simha and Sumalatha Ambarish, Mayor Tasneem and Zilla Panchayat (ZP) President Parimala Shyam will be the  chief guests.

The Utsava features following cultural programmes: 

Procession Troupes – Kamsale by Desiranga Samskrutika Samsthe, Mysuru, Puja Kunita by Kariyappa and team, T. Narasipura, Dollu Kunita by Nikhil and team of Mysuru and Gorava Kunita by Nele Hinnele of Mysuru; Stage programme – Light music by Ningaraju and team of T. Narasipur, Folk songs by Lakshmiram and team of Mysuru, Devotional music by Sowbhagya, Padma and team of Mysuru, Kranti Geete by Narayana and team of Mysuru, Sobane Pada by Chennajamma and team of T. Narasipur and Chikkamanchamma and team of T. Narasipur, Dance Drama ‘Sri Gajanana Kathe’ by Bhagyalakshmi and team of Mysuru, Manteswamy and Mahadeshwara Kavya Gayana by Chandrakanth and team of H.D. Kote and Dance Drama by Chamaraju of Kaladhare Cultural Trust, Mysuru.

MLAs of Mysuru district, Chairmen of Boards and Corporations and District and Taluk Panchayat Members will be present, according to a press release from Kannada and Culture Assistant Director H. Chennappa.
