Thousands of Jains celebrate Navkar Mahamantra Divas in city

Mysore/Mysuru: Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO), Mysore Chapter, celebrated Vishva Navkar Mahamantra Divas at Town Hall premises in city this morning.

Thousands of people chanted the mantra, joining several such thousands of people who recited this mantra in more than 120 countries praying for world peace.

In Mysuru district, the mantra was chanted at 28 centres / hoblis / towns. Home Minister Amit Shah also joined the event from New Delhi. Previous year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated the programme.

The chanting of Navkar Mantra and lighting of the lamp from distinguished guests and sponsors along with members of JITO Mysore, Ladies Wing and Youth Wing, marked the inauguration of the event.

JITO Mysore Chairman Vinod Bakliwal welcomed more than 2,500 guests, who had turned up at the venue. Sadhvi Shree Pavanprabha Aadi Thana blessed the programme with mangal path. Navkar mantra was recited in soulful tunes by Hardik Jain from Bhiwandi, who took everyone into a trance.

Sri Sthanakvasi Jain Sangh President Subhashchand Darda, Secretary Budhmal Baghmar, Terapanth Sabha President Prakash Dak, Secretary Dilip Pitliya, Digambar Jain Samaj’s Lakshmeesh, Sri Sumathinath Jain Sangh past President Ashok Dantewadia, Sri Sumatinath Jain Navyuvak Mandal President Jay Kumar Salecha, Sri Sthanakvasi Jain Yuva Sanghatan President Navarathan Darla, Terapanth Yuvak Parishad President Pramod Munot, Humane Touch President Vikram Salecha, Helping Hands President Mahaveer Khabiya, Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana Vice-Presidents Kushal Palrecha and Amit Chouhan took part.

Members of JITO Mysore Ramesh Nolkha, Prem Palrecha, Goutham Baghmar, Past Chairmen Praveen Dantewadis, Kantilal Chouhan, Tikam Chand, KKG Zone Convener Chandragupt Katariya, JITO Apex Convener Punit Srisimaal, Project Director Rajan Baghmar, Mahaveer Gadiya, Manohar Sankala, Prakash Gandhi, Manish Shah, Mukesh Mehta, JITO Ladies Wing Chairperson Mona Bhatewara, Rajani Dagliya, Secretary Seema Bohra, Youth Chairman Siddharth Katariya, Puneet Jugraj, members of JITO Mysore main wing, Ladies Wing and Youth Wing were also present.
