Mysore/Mysuru: Three cows have been killed at the forest area of Aloka Palace in Yelwal in a span of one week.
The cows belonged to farmers of Hale Kaamanakoppalu and Yelwal village. An eyewitness said that the tiger has been attacking cattle in broad daylight.
It may be recalled that two tigers were spotted about a week ago near Yelwal and from Aug. 20, the tigers have attacked cows creating a sense of fear among the villagers, who said that the tigers had attacked two cows on Aug. 20 and on Thursday at about 2 pm, they (tigers) had carried away a cow, which was grazing on the road side.
The villagers alleged that the Forest Department, who had placed a cage to trap the tigers have not bothered to check on it besides stating that if the Forest Department displays negligence, the tigers may also attack human beings.
