Mysuru: The three-day Onam Fair organised by Kerala Samajam, Mysuru, was inaugurated by Mallikarjun Baladandi, Superintendent of Police (SP), Mysuru District, yesterday at Samajam Community Centre in Vijayanagar.
Bastian Joseph, President, Kerala Samajam, Mysuru; P. Moideen, former President; A. R. Joseph, General Secretary, along with other committee members and Samajam members were present.
In his inaugural address, SP Baladandi spoke about the great cultural values and significance of the Onam festival.

He recalled the traditional celebrations of Onam and highlighted how the festival promotes the message of unity, equality, harmony and togetherness among people.
He also appreciated the efforts of Kerala Samajam, Mysuru, in preserving and promoting Kerala’s rich cultural traditions.

The Onam Fair will continue until Aug. 25 (9.30 am to 9 pm) and offers a wide variety of traditional Kerala food products, handloom and textile items, handicrafts and other Onam specialities.
All products are being offered at attractive and special discounts, providing visitors with an excellent opportunity to purchase quality Kerala products at discounted prices.
Kerala Samajam, Mysuru, will also organise a Grand Onam Sadhya on Sept. 6. Coupons for the Onam Sadhya are available at the Onam Fair and visitors can purchase coupons during the fair.
