Three house burglars arrested

Rs. 60 lakh worth gold jewellery, cash recovered

Mysore/Mysuru: In separate house burglary cases, Narasimharaja (NR) Division Police have arrested three burglars and have recovered gold jewellery worth Rs. 60 lakh and Rs. 53,000 cash from them.

The arrested are Karthik Kumar of Bengaluru, Abhishek of Holenarasipur taluk and Manja of Channarayapatna taluk in Hassan district.

In the first case, the Special Police team led by N.R. Sub-Division ACP M. Shivashankar, which was formed to crack a burglary case that took place in Vijayanagar Police limits, arrested accused Abhishek and Manja and subjected them to interrogation during which the accused had confessed of committing house burglaries in Vijayanagar and Alanahalli Police limits.

Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have recovered 626 grams gold jewellery worth Rs. 30 lakh and Rs. 40,000 cash besides seizing a two-wheeler used for the crime.

Following the arrest, the Police have solved six cases in Vijayanagar and one case in Alanahalli Police limits.

In the second case, the Police on Aug. 25 arrested accused Karthik Kumar, who was fleeing with gold and cash, which he had looted from a house near a College in Vijayanagar 1st Stage.

The Police have recovered 593 grams gold jewellery worth Rs. 30 lakh and Rs. 13,000 cash from him.

DCP (Crime and Traffic) M.S. Geetha Prasanna and N.R. Sub-Division ACP M. Shivashankar guided Vijayanagar Inspector H.N. Balakrishna, Metagalli Inspector Mallesh, Sub-Inspectors V.R. Shabareesh, Indramma and Kiran, ASI Anil Shankapal and staff Ramesh, Kantharaju, Lingarajappa, Suresh, Jeevan, Hanumanta, Muruligowda, Shankar, Shivamallu, Pradeep Kumar, Tilak Kumar, Annappa Devadiga, Nandeesh, Sreenivasamurthy, Prabhakar, CDR Division’s Kumar and Manjunath in the nabbing and recovery operation.
