Today’s students are at crossroads of ‘Age of Choices’: Dr. C.G. Betsurmath

December 27, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: “Today we live in a world of difficult choices and to choose the best in the ‘Age of Choices’ is a highly competitive task and the students are at the crossroads of selections,” opined Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, Executive Secretary, JSS Mahavidyapeetha  (JSSMVP).

Addressing the students recently after inaugurating ‘Deeksharambh 2021-22’ and JSSCACS Competitive Examination Training Cell at JSS College of Arts, Commerce & Science, Ooty Road, he said that today we live in a world of difficult choices, and to choose the best in the ‘Age of Choice’ is a highly competitive task for the parents too.

He also expressed his concern towards the problem faced by parents in selecting a good educational institution for their wards in today’s technological world that has changed the very concept of education. Students must develop social and emotional skills apart from gaining worldly knowledge, he said.

Focusing on the importance of the competitive training cell, Dr. Betsurmath said that the main objective is to make the students to get ready for the competitive exams and to face the challenging life in socialising, associating, governing, rationalising and to build an enhanced personality.

Prof. K.C. Veerabhadraiah, Joint Director, Department of Collegiate Education, who presided, created awareness among the students about the National Education Policy (NEP-2020) and the changes that can be expected in the new system.

He said that NEP-2020 provides ample opportunity to enhance the creative skills in the students. At the same time he called upon the students to be aware of the uses and abuses of technology that prompts the student fraternity more towards misusing the technology.

Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive of the College,  provided detailed information about the facilities available in the College and advised the students to make the best use of it.
