Mysore/Mysuru: In the wake of rising drugs racket, a special team led by City Police Commissioner Ramesh Banoth is operating to get into the root of the menace.

Disclosing this to media persons here this morning, the City Police Commissioner said: “We are keeping a tab on substance abuse like ganja and opium and the suppliers and receivers. More than that, we are also keeping a tab on the modus operandi of the receivers and the types of students who have fallen prey for it”.

These measures are taken especially in the wake of a recent case (where a law student and practicing advocate were arrested by CCB Police on the charges of peddling drugs) and is intended at weeding out the menace in the city. A team is completely ready to conduct search operations, added the City Police Commissioner.

Along with this, flesh trade is being carried out in the name of spa at some beauty parlours in prestigious localities of the city. The Police Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors have been directed to conduct inspections and take action against them within the ambit of law, the     City Top Cop said.
