November 16, 2022

Mysore/Mysuru: Narasimharaja (NR) Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against three persons on charges of cheating a man to the tune of Rs. 3.20 lakh on the pretext of taking him on a tour to religious places abroad.

Based on the complaint from one Antony Das, a resident of Gandhinagar, NR Police have registered the FIR against Oasis Voyasis Pvt. Ltd. company’s Anand Raj, Tino and Shine.

In his complaint, Antony has stated that he comes regularly to St. Philomena’s Church for prayers and in 2019 he saw an advertisement by Oasis Voyasis Pvt. Ltd. company, which offered a pilgrimage tour to Christian religious places.

He has further stated that Anand Raj of the tour company was providing information outside the Church premises where he (Anand Raj) told that this time the company had organised the pilgrimage to Europe.

As Antony told Anand Raj that he was interested to go to the pilgrimage, Anand took him to the Bengaluru Office on Sept. 20, 2019, where he got Rs. 2 lakh deposited to the company’s bank account and also took Rs. 20,000 cash as biometric fee.

Antony further stated that after two days, Anand Raj held a meeting at Jayalakshmipuram in city with those who had registered for the pilgrimage tour and here too Anand Raj got Rs. 1 lakh deposited into the company’s account.

At the meeting, Anand Raj told everyone to get ready to go to the tour on Sept. 30, but Anand Raj on Sept. 29 night told him that the pilgrimage tour has been cancelled. But he (Anand Raj) neither took him to the tour nor returned the money. After pressurising him (Anand Raj), he gave a cheque for Rs. 3.20 lakh which bounced and on Oct. 18, when he asked for his money, Anand Raj told him that he will not return any money and told Antony to do whatever he want.
