Mysuru: As part of Nada Habba Mysuru Dasara-2024, the tourists at Mysore Palace were offered a traditional welcome recently. Janani Seva Trust had organised the programme to highlight the significance of culture and heritage that define the distinct quality of the city.

Chairperson of Karnataka State Commission for Women Dr. Nagalakshmi Chowdhary greeted the tourists with Mysore Peta and Nanjangud Rasabale, besides sprinkling fragrance over them and gifting a string of jasmine flower, green bangles and performing aarti to them.

Speaking later, Nagalakshmi said, Mysuru is popular worldwide and gifting the tourists with articles that embody the culture of the city, is a matter of sheer joy. The tourists are also enthusiastic to know more about Dasara.

“I humbly pray to the Goddess Chamundeshwari that, Nada Habba Mysuru Dasara is celebrated without any hurdles and the State remain prosperous,” said Dr. Nagalakshmi.

Heritage expert Prof. N.S. Rangaraju, noted sugama sangeetha artiste H.R. Leelavathi, President of Janani Seva Trust M.K. Ashok, Rtn. Gautam Salecha,   Nandini, R. Sowmya and others were present.
