Mysuru: An incident of a person being run over by a train was reported near Ashokapuram Railway Station this morning. The deceased has been identified as Nagaraju (30), a resident of Chikkaharadanahalli, who owned a tea shop near the Railway Station.

The Police said that Nagaraju was run over by a train while he was trying to cross the railway line at around 7.30 am.

Few passersby informed the Railway Police who arrived at the spot and shifted Nagaraju to Bhavani Hospital. He later breathed his last at 10.30 am owing to severe blood loss.

Railway Police SI Krishna Murthy has registered a case.

Nagaraju’s body has been shifted to MMC&RI mortuary for post-mortem.
