Mysuru: Karnataka Sugama Sangeetha Parishat, Mysuru Chapter, in association with Nithin’s Nadamrutha School of Music, Mysuru, has organised “Mandolin Mantrikanige Nudigaana Namana,” a musical and literary tribute to noted mandolin exponent and singer N.S. Prasad, popularly known as Mandolin Prasad. The programme will be held today (July 31) from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm at Sri Anantheshwara Bhavana, KHB Colony, Hootagalli.

Dr. Nagaraj V. Bairy, President of Karnataka Sugama Sangeetha Parishat, Mysuru, will preside. President of Sharana Sahitya Parishat, Mysuru Chapter, Dr. Jayappa Honnali, noted writer and Kannada professor Dr. Santhosh Chokkadi and journalist Amshi Prasanna Kumar will offer literary tributes.

The musical tribute will be presented under the leadership of Nithin Rajaram Shastri. Singers Amrutha Nithin Shastri, Rakshi Chikkamagaluru, Divya Satyananda, S. Revathi, B.R. Shrikar, Mahesh Priyadarshan, V.S. Shruthi, M.S. Shreeksha, Bhavya Hebbale, Sneha Talakalu, along with the students of Nadamrutha, will render selected songs.

Navyatha Devaraju, daughter of N.S. Prasad, will present a dance based on vachanas. Students of Nadamrutha will also participate. Instrumental support will be provided by Ganesh Bhat on keyboard, Veerendra Prasad on mandolin, Atmaram Nayak on tabla and Sujayendra Rao on rhythm pad. Amrutha Nithin Shastri will compere the event. Entry to the programme is free.
