Tributes to late K.S. Puttannaiah

Mysuru: Bahujana Vidyarthi Sangha (BVS) had organised a programme at Gandhi Bhavan in Manasagangothri here to pay tributes to MLA K.S. Puttannaiah who passed away recently.

After offering floral tributes to a portrait of Puttannaiah, Oriental Research Institute Director Dr. Shivarajappa suggested that in memory of Puttannaiah, one lakh saplings should be planted in each district of the State as the deceased MLA had suggested to plant a sapling instead of performing obsequies. He hailed Puttannaiah, who was very practical in approach to any issue, as an encyclopaedia on farming.

KIKS Professor M.N. Talawar, Raitha Sangha District Secretary Basavaraj, BVS District President Siddaraju, JD(S) leader Abhishek and others also spoke.

Former Mandya DC condoles: Former Mandya Deputy Commissioner and currently the Commissioner for Cane Development and Director of Sugar, Dr. M.N. Ajay Nagabhushan, who is in Tripura on election duty, too has condoled the death of farmer leader Puttannaiah.
