Trinity College London conducts online exam for instrumental music

July 25, 2020

Mysore/Mysuru: Trinity College London (TCL), in association with Centre for Rural, Education, Development and Innovative Technologies of India (Credit-i), conducted online exams for instrumental music for the first time in Mysuru recently.

TCL is an examination board based in London, United Kingdom, which offers graded and diploma qualifications (up to postgraduate level) across a range of disciplines in performing arts and English language learning and teaching in over  70 countries.

In a press release, Dr. M.P. Varsha, Managing Trustee and CEO of Credit-i, said that the exams have been conducted for the first time in Mysuru. “Till last year, the students had to appear for the exams at the centres either in Bengaluru or Chennai. The representatives of TCL would be invigilators. After assessment, the college presents marks and certificates of grades to students,” he said.

However, due to Covid-19 pandemic this year, the representatives could not visit India to conduct the exam. Hence, the students had to appear for online exam at Credit-i centre in Krishnamurthypuram, Mysuru. The TCL had given them individual identity and passwords.

Around 26 students of Prasad School of Rhythms appeared for the exams of several grades. The aspirants were from first standard to engineering students, who played drums, in the presence of experts. Their performance was recorded and uploaded in Google Drive by the participant, with an exclusive password. Once TCL assesses individual performances, the students would be presented with comments, certificates and marksheet.
