Tumakuru: In a gruesome murder, Tumakuru Corporator Ravi Kumar was brutally hacked to death by unidentified miscreants near Batawadi on the outskirts of Tumakuru city this morning.

Ravi Kumar (48) was having tea at a roadside milk parlour, when a group of seven miscreants, who came in a tempo, threw chilli powder at him and hacked him to death with machetes.

The tempo used by the miscreants was abandoned at a little distance away from the spot and the miscreants had tied a Nandini Milk banner to the tempo as a cover, it is learnt. Jurisdictional Kyatsandra Police have registered a case and are investigating.
