Two arrested for smuggling owl

Hanur: The sleuths of the Forest Mobile Squad have arrested two persons on charges of smuggling an owl and have rescued the bird.

The arrested persons have been identified as 30-year-old Madesh and 32-year-old  Rangaswamy, both residents of Kaggaligundi village in Hanur taluk.

Acting on a tip off, Kollegal CID Forest Mobile Squad SI Lokesh and staff, arrested Madesh and Rangaswamy near Kannur Bus Stand and rescued the owl which was being carried by the duo in a gunny bag.

Head Constable Guru- swamy, M. Madeswamy, P. Madeswamy, Raju and others took part in the operation.
