Two injured as flying peacock hits two-wheeler

Mysuru: A two-wheeler rider and a pillion rider sustained injuries after they fell from the vehicle when a peacock that flew suddenly across the road hit their two-wheeler yesterday morning.

A youth and a girl riding pillion were proceeding from Kanakadasa Nagar side towards R.T. Nagar in Dattagalli on the Ring Road.

When they neared Urukatheshwari Temple, a peacock flew suddenly from the right and hit the two-wheeler in the process. Due to the impact, the rider fell from the vehicle and the pillion rider fell a little further along with the vehicle resulting in both of them sustaining injuries. But the peacock which was unhurt flew away.

The injured are said to be residents of Dhanaganahalli near Koorgalli in city.
