Two killed, one injured as goods vehicle hits

Mysuru: In separate cases, two persons were killed while another sustained serious injuries when goods vehicles hit them at Yelwal Police limits in the city on Sunday.

In the first case, a man, who was riding pillion on the bike was killed while his son, who was riding the bike sustained serious injuries when a goods vehicle hit the bike at Yelwal Police limits on Sunday morning. While the deceased has been identified as Ningegowda (55), his injured son is 27-year-old Pradeep Kumar, residents of Kamarahalli village, Yelwal hobli in the taluk.

On Sunday at about 6 am, Ningegowda and his son Pradeep were proceeding to KRS Santhe (Shandy) on their Splendor Plus bike (KA-55-Y-3805) when the goods vehicle (KA-09-AA-3609) which was proceeding from Lingadevarakoppal towards Kamanakoppal hit the bike at Nagawala Junction resulting in both the father and son falling from the bike and sustaining serious injuries. Though both were rushed to a hospital in Mysuru city, Ningegowda succumbed to the injuries in the evening.

In the second case, an elderly man was killed on the spot when a goods vehicle hit him at Yelwal in city on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Javaregowda alias Annegowda (75), a native of Holenarasipur taluk, who was residing at a rented house with his family at Yelwal.

On Sunday afternoon, Javaregowda was crossing the Mysuru-Hunsur Main Road near Yelwal Government Hospital, when the goods vehicle (KA-47-2337), which was proceeding towards Hunsur side, hit Javaregowda, killing him on the spot. Yelwal Police, who have registered separate cases, are investigating.
