Two motorcyclists killed in hit-and-run case

Gundlupet: In what appears to be a hit-and-run case, two motorcyclists were killed on the spot, when their two-wheeler was knocked down by an unidentified speeding car near Hasaguli in the taluk late last night.

The deceased have been identified as Venkatesh (30) and Kantachari (50) of Alattur village in Gundlupet taluk.

Venkatesh and Kantachari were returning to their village from Hasaguli late last night in a motorcycle, when a speeding unidentified car coming in the opposite direction, knocked down the motorcycle near Hasaguli.

The two , who sustained serious injuries in the accident, died on the spot. The car driver fled  from the spot without stopping, it is learnt.

The jurisdictional Begur Police visited the spot, conducted mahazar and shifted the bodies to Gundlupet General Hospital for post-mortem. Begur Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are on the look out for the car involved in the accident.
