March 29, 2018

Mysuru:  “A uniform Civil Code may be the only solution for the social disparities that is prevalent in the country,” opined Sri Trinetra Mahantha Shivayogi Swamiji of Baby Mutt.

He was speaking at a seminar on ‘Opportunities and challenges for women,’ jointly organised by Akhila Bharat Sharana Sahitya Parishat and Kadali Mahila Vedike as part of International Women’s Day, at Rajendra Bhavan in JSS Hospital premises here recently.

Pointing out that Akkamahadevi’s life of sacrifice can be a great inspiration for womenfolk of today, Shivayogi Swamiji called upon women to achieve their set targets and thus become emulative models for others.

Regretting corruption in Governance, the Seer said that no file moves in Vidhana Soudha unless money is paid.

Highlighting the cultural, social and heritage richness of our country, the Seer called upon women to imbibe ‘Samskara’ and not to fall prey to western culture.

He reiterated that Governments should take cue from a Supreme Court observation and work towards introducing a uniform Civil Code for a better society.

Women activist Meera Nayak and Vijaya Sindhuvalli of Kalasuruchi were felicitated on the occasion.

Senior advocate Sumana, former Davanagere VC Prof. Indumathi, KSOU faculty Dr. Jyothi Shankar, Kadali Mahila Vedika President Kalyani Natarajappa and others were present.
