Mysore/Mysuru: Urging the authorities to take back the circular on payment of admission and exam fees, several students of University of Mysore (UoM), under the banner of UoM Research Students Association, staged a demonstration in front of the clock tower in Manasagangothri  campus here on Wednesday.

Alleging that UoM authorities all of a sudden have issued a circular on fee payment, despite the fact that there is no admission fee for SC/ST students for the past several years, they contended that the admission fee could have been deducted from the scholarship of students. But the scholarship is yet to be released and now the University has issued fee payment circular, asking the students to remit fee by May 31, they alleged and demanded that the authorities take back the circular in the interest of scores of students.

UoM Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar, who visited the venue, received the memorandum from protesting students  after which he assured that the issue will be resolved soon.
