UPS stolen from hostel, accused arrested

Mysuru: Alanahalli Police have arrested Imran, 23, of Farm Colony in Ghousianagar here yesterday in connection with an incident of theft that had reportedly occurred recently at a students hostel run by Prakash Memorial Trust at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Nagar here. The CCTV footage of the surveillance camera installed at a house adjacent to the hostel was said to have indicated that three to four persons had stolen an UPS device with a battery all worth Rs.10,000 and moved out in a goods autorickshaw.

On interrogation by Police, Imran was said to have confessed to the crime. The goods autorickshaw and the stolen items were recovered by the Police.

The others, accused in the crime, are said to have absconded and a hunt is on by the Police to nab them.
