‘Vaastu’ is not meant for making money: Sanskrit University VC

Mysuru:  Asserting that Vaastushastra(Vaastu Science) is an integral part of Indian culture, Karnataka Sanskrit University Vice-Chancellor Prof.V. Girishchandra maintained that Vaastu is not a business meant for making money.

He was speaking after inaugurating the third National Vaastu Science Conference organised jointly by Karnataka Sanskrit University, Sri Mayakar Gurukula and Karnataka State Astrologers and Astrological Study Centres Federation (KSAASCF), at Cauvery auditorium of KSOU, Muktagangothri on Hunsur road here recently.

Noting that Astrology is not only a Science but an art as well, he said that Vaastu was necessary for leading a simple, contentful and peaceful life. Reiterating that Vaastu is not a business, he opined that Vaastu will become more popular if it was practised by only those who have best knowledge about the subject. 

Pointing out that Vaastu Science has been in practise for centuries, he said that Vaastu plays an important role in the design of buildings, especially homes and apartments. Underlining the importance of Vaastu in most aspects of life, Prof. Girishchandra said this ancient Science shows the way ahead for economic growth, peace of mind and better relationships etc.  and added that the Sanskrit University has given permission to 50 Institutions for starting Vaastu Science, Astrology and Scripture courses.

Vasan, Karnataka Astrological Science Research Centre President Ganesh Hegde, KSAASCF President Haridas Jujare, Avini Astro Research Centre President Dr.B.N. Anantaraghavan, SPACE President B.K. Sainath, Bengaluru’s Bharatiya Jyotishya Vidya Kendra’s M. Vasudevamurthy, Bengaluru Jnana Jyothi Jyotishya Vidyakendra Founder President Prof.R. Krishnakumar and Jyotishya Margasoochi magazine Editor S. Pranesh, were conferred with ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award. Meet Souvenir was released on the occasion.

Raman and Rajeshwari Research Foundation, Bengaluru, President Niranjan Babu, Suttur Shivaratreeshwara Panchanga maker Dr.K.G. Puttahonaiah, Mayakara Gurukula Founder Dr. Mugur Madhu Dikshit and others were present.
