Vaccination: Provide separate time slot for senior citizens

April 26, 2021

Sir,

The Government is opening up vaccination for youngsters who are 18 years and above from 1st of May onwards. In the meantime, there are so many senior citizens who are due for second dose vaccination during the above period.

It is a matter of great concern for senior citizens for two reasons — increased number of Covid cases in the city and aversion to wear mask by youngsters.

There are other concerns also for senior citizens, that is, the 45 days to 60 days gap for administering the second dose and the fear of shortage of vaccines.

In order to avoid crowding and also to protect the senior citizens, it is suggested to keep different time slot for seniors. Hence, the District Administration is requested to reserve the afternoon slot for vaccination to senior citizens.
