Varsity retired employees stage protest demanding release of pension

Mysore/Mysuru: Pensioners of University of Mysore (UoM) staged a demonstration in front of Crawford Hall here yesterday demanding immediate release of pension.

Expressing concern over non-release of pension, the pensioners said that about 1,860 pensioners of the University are facing hardship. Pointing out that with the Karnataka High Court staying the appointment of V-C recently, the credit of pension to bank accounts of pensioners has got delayed due to the absence of the V-C, whose signature is a must for major financial payments. Demanding the intervention of the Governor, who is the Chancellor of all State-run Universities and the Government, the protestors warned that they will intensify the stir if the pension is not released in a couple of days.

Pensioners Association President Dr. K. Mahadev, office-bearers Krishnamallegowda, Prof. Sarvamangala, Prof. Kalachannegowda, Prof. Kalegowda Nagavara, Prof. N.S. Rangaraju and others were present.
