Veterans State-level Table Tennis Tourney: City’s Sainath Iyer finishes runner-up

Mysuru-based Dr. Sainath Iyer, taking part in the State-level Veteran’s Table Tennis Tourney held at Bengaluru recently, finished runner-up in the 70 plus Men’s Singles event.

In the final, K.A. Udhayshankar beat Dr. Sainath Iyer 11-8, 11-7, 11-9. In the semi-finals, Dr. Sainath Iyer had got the better of M.A. Krishnaswamy 11-5, 11-6, 11-3 to enter the title round. In the men’s 75 plus category, K. Sathyanarayana of Bengaluru beat city’s K.V. Krishnamurthy (PTTA) 11-5, 12-10, 11-6 in the semi-finals.

In the women’s section, Anjana Rao (MP) beat Mysuru’s J. Mamatha (Income-Tax) 11-7, 11-9, 11-7 in the semi-finals.
