Vidyarthi Ekta Manvantara: State Executive Meeting of NSUI held in city

February 24, 2022

Mysore/Mysuru: Accusing the Narendra Modi-led BJP Government at the Centre of failing to address unemployment issues, KPCC Working President and former Congress MP R. Dhruvanarayan alleged that the Union Government was creating more unemployment by privatising public sectors.

He was speaking after inaugurating ‘Vidyarthi Ekta Manvantara’ State Executive Meeting of National Students Union of India (NSUI), Karnataka, at Congress Bhavan near the City Railway Station here on Wednesday.

Contending that the Centre was out to create a sense of insecurity by privatisation of the public sector, Dhruvanarayan said this was a move to deprive reservation in jobs.  Charging the Central and State Governments of spreading religious fanaticism  and hatred among the student community by dividing the society on communal lines, the former MP said that the NSUI should stand up to such divisive politics and thwart any attempts to disrupt unity and harmony.

Taking a dig at the BJP for making false promises on job creation and employment opportunities, Dhruvanarayan said that jobs are fast vanishing and the Centre was doing little to create jobs.

Asking the NSUI to create awareness and sensitise the student community on the dubious and disruptive ways of the BJP, the KPCC working President also wanted the NSUI to take up student issues such as rising College fees, non-distribution of scholarship for SC/ST students, lapses in bus pass issuance and such others.

Maintaining that the BJP Government’s policies were badly hurting the student community, he said that the NSUI, apart from its regular activities,  must also concentrate on organising the student community and thus help the Congress regain power in the State and the country.

City Congress President R. Murthy, District President Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar, former MLAs Vasu and M.K. Somashekar, NSUI State President Keerthi Ganesh, office-bearers H.A. Rohit Singh, S.R. Prashanth, Balaraju, Sagar, Samir, Adnan and others were present.
