Mysuru: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy (HDK) has assured Vijayashreepura residents, who are facing the threat of demolition, that his government will make sincere efforts to solve their problems.
Hundreds of residents are facing the danger of losing their houses as the High Court (HC) has dismissed their pleas and said that the Supreme Court (SC) order on demolition of houses will stay.
The SC, on Dec. 16, 2015, had ordered demolition of buildings. Following a batch of petitions filed by the residents in SC and High Court, the SC had asked the High Court to adjudicate the cases.
Meeting residents at Kalamandira premises in city yesterday, HDK said that his government was with them and there was no need to panic. District Minister G.T. Devegowda, MLA L. Nagendra and Dr. Ranganath, President of Vijayashreepura Kshemabhivruddhi Sangha told the CM that the residents were planning to file a review petition in the HC and at the same time, approach the SC.
The CM assured the residents that he would soon convene a meeting of officials from Mysuru Urban Development Authority, MCC, Revenue Department and the Advocate General and come up with a solution.
