Villagers rescue deer from dogs

A deer, which had strayed into Dhanagalli village and was injured after a pack of dogs had attacked it, was rescued by the villagers yesterday morning.

Later, villagers informed Jayapura Police about the incident, who rushed to the spot and in turn informed the Forest Department.

Range Forest Officer (RFO) H.K. Puttaraju and staff, who visited the spot, took the deer into their custody, got it treated and later released it into the forest area on Hunsur Road.
