Mysuru: Visushis H.M. Sindhu Suchetan and H.M. Smitha Karthik have mastered both violin and vocal music and carved a niche in both the streams. The siblings are the grand daughters of veteran violinist A.V. Venakatanarayana of Mysuru, a disciple of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Mysore T. Chowdiah.
They were initiated into music at very young age and trained under the senior violinist and reputed Guru, Ganakalabhushana H.K. Narasimhamurthy and also mentored by renowned violinist H.N. Bhaskar. Both are ‘A’ grade artistes of Akashavani and have won lot of awards.
The sisters will be presenting a violin duet on Sunday (July 21) at Sri Lakshminarasimhaswamy Gaythri Temple, SBM Colony, Srirampura, Mysuru, at 6.15 pm. Vid. G.S. Ramanujan (mridanga) and Vid. V.S. Ramesh (morching) will accompany.
The event is arranged by S.N. Subba Rao in memory of his wife late S. Nirmala.
