Mysore/Mysuru: Ganabharathi, Mysuru, has organised a Karnatak vocal concert by Vidu. Srimatha Ramanand tomorrow (Mar. 15)at 6 pm at Veene Seshanna Bhavana in Kuvempunagar.
She will be accompanied by Vid. Amogh Nadadur on violin, Vid. Adamya Ramanand on mridanga and Vid. Sharath Koushik on ghata.
Profile: Srimatha Ramanand is a graded artiste of All India Radio (Prasar Bharati) in classical music since 2012, currently placed in ‘B-High’ grade. This Karnatak vocalist is trained under Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee, Sangeetha Kala Acharya, Sangeetha Kalarathna Vid. M. S. Sheela. She has been performing and teaching Karnatak classical music for about two decades now.
She has passed ‘Vidwath’ Proficiency grade exams conducted by the Karnataka State Secondary Education Board with distinction. A rank holder throughout her academic career, Srimatha holds three Master’s degrees – M.A. (Music), M.A. (English) & M Phil (English).
She comes from a musical family with her mother Vidu. Geetha Ramanand being a top graded Veena artiste, brother Vid. Adamya Ramanand, A grade mridanga artiste and father P. Ramanand, connoisseur of music.
