VVCE Open Day inspires future engineers

Mysore/Mysuru: Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE), Mysuru, hosted Open Day-2026 on Sunday last, providing aspiring engineering students and parents an opportunity to explore academic excellence, innovation and career opportunities in engineering education.

K.S. Sundar, Associate Vice-President, Infosys Ltd., M    ysuru, who was the chief guest, stressed the importance of engineering in a technology-driven world and encouraged students to become effective problem solvers and business transformation partners.

Highlighting the impact of Artificial Intelligence, he advised students to continuously upskill themselves to stay relevant in the evolving industry.

V. Ravindra, VVCE alumnus and senior design engineer at Kyrosemi, Bengaluru and Uday Shankar, CET Expert and Principal of Maharaja Government PU College, Mysuru, were the guests of honour.

During the interactive session, Ravindra spoke about the opportunities in Electronics and Communication Engineering (E&C), citing its strong industrial connect and flexibility in interdisciplinary projects.

Uday Shankar guided the students and parents on the CET counselling process and informed decision-making during  admissions.

Vidyavardhaka Sangha President Gundappa Gowda, Secretary P. Vishwanath, Principal of VVCE Dr. B. Sadashive Gowda, Vice-Principal Dr. Shobha Shankar and Dean – Academic Affairs (First Year) Dr. G.V. Naveen Prakash were present.

Highlighting VVCE’s academic and research achievements, Dr. Sadashive Gowda guided parents and students on choosing the right engineering college by considering factors such as affordability, experienced faculty, infrastructure, Centres of Excellence, sports facilities, accreditation and co-curricular activities.

He also mentioned that VVCE has awarded scholarships worth Rs. 1.08 crore to deserving students and emphasised the institution’s commitment to holistic student development.

Highlighting the strong industry-academia connect, he stated that several companies are functioning from the VVCE campus, with students already working alongside them.
