Vyramudi Utsava at Melukote from Mar. 21

Melukote: In the context of Vyramudi Jathra Mahotsava to be held at Sri. Cheluvanarayanaswamy Temple here from Mar. 21 to April. 2, Deputy Commissioner Manjushri had organised a preliminary meeting of officials at the Tourist Bungalow here recently.

Manjushri said that lakhs of devotees were expected to attend the event and hence asked officials to make ample security arrangements. She also sought good bus facility, drinking water, medical service, toilets, ambulance service and uninterrupted power supply.

Theppotsava: After watching the video recording of last year’s Vyramudi Utsava, Manjushri observed that the Mantapa at the Kalyani was in a dilapidated condition where the Theppotsava was held and hence asked officials to construct a temporary Mantapa, ensure its safety and then organise Theppotsava this time. She also asked the officials to obtain a Safety Certificate from the department concerned for the Chariot to be used during the Utsava.

Cancel passes: The DC observed that unnecessary commotion was being seen on the Vyramudi Utsava day to witness scrutiny of Rajamudi and added that effective steps would be taken to avoid such incidents. She suggested cancellation of passes and said that it was being contemplated to make arrangement for dignitaries to witness Utsava outside the temple. She asked Police personnel to prevent people from showering coins and flowers during the Utsava.

Special illumination: Manjushri asked officials to make arrangements to specially illuminate Kalyani, Yoganarasimhaswamy Hill, Cheluvanarayanaswamy Temple. Utsava route and other places with good generator back up.

She asked the officials to present the report of all arrangements during the next meeting.

The DC inspected the parking place, Utsava route and in the vicinity of the temple. ZP CEO B. Sharath, SP Radhika and others attended the meeting.
