In a noble gesture, Arjun Ranga, Owner of Mysuru Warriors and Managing Director of Cycle Pure Agarbathies, presented a cheque for Rs.1 lakh to DC Office Tahsildar Johnson towards the CM’s Flood Relief Fund. Mysuru Warriors also donated Rs.50,000-worth candles and match boxes.
Mysuru Warriors, a Karnataka Premier League (KPL) franchise powered by Cycle Pure Agarbathies, announced its new squad for the upcoming season of the KPL-2019. The Warriors also announced Amit Verma as Captain and introduced L.R. Chethan and Utham Aiyappa as the two players, selected from the grassroot Talent Hunt programme, to represent the team, for the eighth edition of the KPL.
The press conference held at Hotel Southern Star in city this morning to announce the team began with a minute’s silence for all the flood victims. This was followed by Arjun Ranga, Owner of Mysuru Warriors and Managing Director of Cycle Pure Agarbathies, presenting a cheque for Rs.1 lakh towards the CM’s Flood Relief Fund. The team also donated Rs.50,000-worth candles and match boxes to the cause.
Commenting on the new team, Arjun Ranga said: “We are extremely happy with the consistent quality across the squad this year; we can’t wait to see the boys in action as they conquer the KPL. We are pretty confident; this year’s KPL is going to be extremely entertaining with some good and exciting cricket. Amit Verma has proved himself on various occasions and we are proud to have him as our captain. We wish all the luck to the 8 teams and hope to see some exceptional cricket this edition.”

We are confident that this season, we will witness good cricket for all the fans in Mysuru who have been cheering us on all these years,” said Amit Verma, Captain, Mysuru Warriors.
Elaborating on the team, Coach Rx Muralidhar said, “With good depth in bowling, batting and fielding we have a strong side. I am confident the team will exhibit an exciting game of cricket, and keep the crowds entertained.”
The team introduced their support team comprising Rx Muralidhar as the Coach and Vijay Madyalkar, Assistant Coach, along with Shyam Rao as the fitness trainer.
The team has also associated with Sri Ranga as the team physiotherapist and brings Athul Rao as Video Analyst, Nandan as Masseur, Akhil as Throw Down Specialist and M.R. Suresh as the Team Manager, N. Arun Kumar and R. Madhusudan as the Team Coordinator for KPL-2019.
Modelled on the lines of IPL, the 20-20 Tournament is organized by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) and will witness the competition between eight teams. Started in 2009, the KPL is now in its eighth season which will commence from Aug.16.
