Watchman assaulted in city

Mysore/Mysuru: Four persons are alleged to have brutally assaulted a watchman on Friday midnight in city.

The seriously injured watchman, who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in city is Rangaswamy, who was working as a watchman for Praveen at D. Devaraj Urs Truck Terminal near Bandipalya here and was staying in a shed there.

According to the statement given by Rangaswamy to the Police, four persons, identified as Srinivasarao, Manjunathrao, Sachin and Mahesh, called Rangaswamy who was sleeping in the shed on Friday midnight and when he (Rangaswamy) came out, the four persons all of a sudden began to assault him with beer bottles and iron roads. When Rangaswamy began to run from the spot, they chased him and assaulted him besides issuing life threats.

Vidyaranyapuram Inspector Manjunath said that a case has been registered and investigations were going on.
