‘Weddings and thread ceremony events are Siddaramaiah’s priority’

June 10, 2025

Mysuru: Former MP Prathap Simha has strongly criticised Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for failing to meet and console the families of those who lost their lives in the recent stampede, even as he continued to attend weddings and Munji (thread ceremony) functions.

“Instead of shedding tears for 11 youths who died in the tragedy and offering condolences to their families, the CM seems more preoccupied with wedding feasts and Munji and Beegara Oota,” he said.

Accusing Siddaramaiah of displaying lack of empathy and compassion, he said “If the CM claims he came to know about the Stadium incident in Bengaluru two hours late, it raises a serious question — how is he managing the affairs of the State?”

The MP termed Siddaramaiah’s response to the incident as reflective of an emotionally disconnected leadership.
