Pejawar Mutt Seer calls for donating part of wealth for noble cause
Mysuru: Bhagini Sangeethotsava, a seven-day classical music festival organised by BSS Vidyodaya School, Krishnamurthypuram, in the city, began yesterday.
Udupi Pejawar Mutt Seer Sri Vishwaprasanna Teertha Swamiji, also the Chairman of the School, inaugurated the music festival at Padmaja Srinivas auditorium at its premises. The event also coincided with the inauguration of the auditorium named after Padmaja Srinivas. The music festival will be held daily from 6 pm to 9 pm up to Apr. 29.
In his address later, the Pejawar Mutt Seer said, Lord Ram, in his message, has told to respect Mother and the Motherland. We should follow the ideals laid down by the Lord and the philanthropists, who donated for the construction of the school building, have indeed practiced what Lord Ram had preached. If one shows generosity to donate a part of the wealth, it is equal to worshipping the God. One should understand the significance of culture in life and teach the same to the kids in their nascent stage, the Seer advised.
Earlier, BSS Vidyodaya President Dr. M. Jagannath Shenoy, also a renowned businessman, observed that, today’s children are extremely intelligent and ahead in scoring the marks. However, it was viceversa in our case, as we were not able to score better marks during the school days. But, we imbibed culture, which nurtures a good conduct of responding to the society. The children should be taught such a good culture along with education, apart from making them aware of our heritage and culture, that forms the core idea behind teaching at this school.

BSS Vidyodaya Hon. Secretary R. Vasudev Bhat said, the school building constructed at the cost of Rs. 30 crore was inaugurated a year ago. It is believed that, the campus has the blessings of Lord Ram. The building was constructed with the donations raised from philanthropists. The speciality of the school is to impart quality education for a nominal fee.
