Mysore/Mysuru: The heritage house of Mysore Vasudevacharya in Agrahara will host the following concerts this weekend:

Dec. 17 (10.30 am to 11.45 am): Vocal Concert by Vidu. Archana Koviladi; 11.45 am to 1 pm: Vocal Concert by Vidu. Lakshmi Varun. These artistes are being accompanied by Vid. M.D. Arjun on violin and Vid. G.S. Nagaraj on mridanga.

Dec. 18 (10.30 am to 12.30 pm): Veena recital by Vidu. Nalini Ravi Kumar from Chennai. She will be accompanied by Vid. Giridhar Srinivasan on mridanga.

Artistes’ Profiles

Vidu. Lakshmi, a student of Vid. Padmamalini Raghunandan, Vid. Tirumale Srinivas and Vid. Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma, has an M.Music degree & is a graded artiste of AIR. She has performed at various reputed Sabhas across South India.

Vidu. Nalini, a disciple of Vid. Padmavathy Ananthagopalan and Dr. R.S. Jayalakshmi, is pursuing Masters in Karnatak music in Silicon Andhra University. She has performed many concerts both in the US and in India.

Mridangist Vid. Nagaraj hails from Bengaluru. He has been a disciple of Vidwans B.N. Chandramouli and Thiruvarur Bhaktavatsalam and is in the field from past 25 years. A graded artiste of AIR,he has performed at several prestigious venues in USA, Dubai and across India. He has led several percussion ensembles and has directed many fusion concerts.

Vid. Giridhar, a disciple of Srirangam S. Vijayaraghavan, has the experience of accompanying many senior artistes. Vidu. Archana and Vid. Arjun are well-known young artistes in the music circles of Mysuru.
