Will CESC rectify its insecure payment site?

December 21, 2023

Sir,

Since a couple of months Chamundeshwari  Electricity Supply Corporation Limited (CESC), Mysuru, is using an insecure payment portal to accept the bill payments online, from its consumers.

Hitherto there were  no security issues with its payment portal, but now after making the online payment,  this  message is flashed: “This site isn’t using secure connection and the file may have been tampered with” and “download insecure file.”

I fail to comprehend how an organisation like CESC can be so callous while accepting the payments from their customers  online through an insecure payment portal.

There are chances of customers bank accounts  getting hacked by using an insecure payment portal.
