C. Pavan and Sharan R. Setty, both from Mysuru, tied with 6.5 points from seven rounds, but the former’s better progressive tie-break score of 29.25 to the latter’s 28.75, helped him to clinch the men’s title in the Dasara State-level Open Chess Championship-2019 which concluded at Chamundi Vihar Stadium complex here on Friday.

In the women’s section, former State Champion H.R. Manasa clinched the title with 6.5 points from seven rounds.
