Wins six medals at National Skating Championship

Mysuru: The State’s senior skater, Mysuru’s Rea Elizabeth Achaiah stood first with 5 gold and 1 silver medal in the 60th National Speed ​​Roller Skating Championship-2022 held at Bengaluru from Dec. 11 to 21.

Details of medals: Gold in 10K Road Points Plus Elimination Race, 15K Road Elimination Race, Road One Lap Race, 4K Mixed Relay and 3K Relay; Silver in Rink 500m and D Race.

Presently training for the selection process for the national team which is being held from Dec. 23 to 25 in Bengaluru, she expressed confidence to participate in the Asian Games and the World Roller Skater Championship to be held next year and win a medal.

Rea is a 7th semester student of Information Science Department at Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering and was felicitated as the ‘Student of the Year’ in a recent function by the College management. She is the daughter of K.N. Achaiah and Priya Achaiah, residents of Vijayanagar 1st Stage in city.
