Nanjangud: A 30-year-old woman, allegedly committed suicide by hanging self at her home in Devanur village in the taluk on Tuesday night.

The deceased is Gayathri, wife of Yogendra. The couple were married six months ago and Yogendra was selling fried items in the village for a living. A middle-man had told Yogendra that Gayathri was an orphan and had got them married, according to the Police. It is learnt that the couple were indulging in frequent fights and depressed over this, Gayathri is said to have committed suicide. Based on the complaint by villagers, Kavalande Sub-Inspector Mahendra has registered a case.
