A woman was found hanging in her house at Saraswathipuram this morning and the woman’s family members, alleging murder by her husband, have lodged a complaint.

The deceased is Sandhya (30), wife of Akshay and residing on the 7th Main Road in Saraswathipuram here.

It is learnt that Sandhya, daughter of former Hunsur City Municipal Council (formerly Town Municipal Council) President Geetha Ningaraju was given in marriage to Akshay, son of Mahadev of T.K. Layout in 2013 and the couple have two children who are studying in 5th and 3rd Standards.

Sandhya’s family members and relatives said that there were frequent quarrels between the couple and alleged that Akshay had murdered Sandhya and in a bid to project it as a suicide, he (Akshay) had hanged Sandhya. Saraswathipuram Police, who reached the spot, conducted mahazar and tried to shift the body for post-mortem but were prevented by the relatives of Sandhya, who urged the Police to initiate legal action against Akshay, who is absconding.

Finally, the Police managed to convince Sandhya’s relatives about the legal procedure and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary for post-mortem.

Saraswathipuram Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
