Woman kills daughters, hangs self later

Gundlupet: A woman, committed suicide by hanging self after allegedly killing her daughters, at Horeyala village near Begur in Gundlupet taluk yesterday evening.

The deceased are Jyothi (29), wife of Yogesh and her daughters Bandavya (7) and Manasa (3). Jyothi first hanged her daughters and later hanged herself when her family members were away, according to a preliminary report.

The incident came to light when Yogesh, who had gone out returned home at about 5 pm yesterday.

Chamarajanagar SP Padmini Sahoo, Begur Circle Inspector Vanaraju, Sub-Inspector Somashekar and staff visited the spot and conducted inspection.

According to the complaint, Jyothi was said to be suffering from illness following which she was depressed and hence she may have taken the  extreme step.

A case has been registered at Begur Police Station.
