October 11, 2026

Mysuru: Cyber criminals, who lured a woman into investing money by promising huge profit, have cheated the woman of Rs. 11.63 lakh.

On July 14, the 50-year-old woman, while browsing her Facebook page, came to know about one Sharan Patil, who told her that he owned a automobile company.

Sharan Patil then told the woman to invest in his company for which he would give four percent of the company shares.

Believing him, the woman transferred Rs. 60,000 through Google Pay initially. In all, the woman had transferred a total of Rs. 11.63 lakh in phases from various accounts.

As the woman did not receive any profit, she realised that she has been cheated and called the Cyber Crime Helpline No. 1930 and lodged a complaint.
