September 24, 2023

Mysore/Mysuru: An unidentified woman has been suspected of stealing a 40 gram gold chain and Rs. 4,000 cash belonging to a woman, who was travelling in a city bus to Bogadi on Thursday. The woman, who lost her valuables, is Sudha, wife of Mallikarjuna and a resident of Palahalli in Srirangapatna taluk.

Sudha, who came in a city bus from Palahalli to City Bus Stand to attend the death rituals of a relative, boarded a city bus to Bogadi. Meanwhile, a lady carrying a baby also boarded the bus and handed over the baby to Sudha, who was seated and stood next to her. When the bus stopped at AIISH Bus Stop, the lady took the baby and alighted from the bus.

Sudha, who wanted to get down at Harsha Bar stop, took a look at her purse and found the zip half opened.

On inspecting the purse, she found Rs. 4,000 cash kept in it missing and also the 40 gram gold chain she was wearing missing and immediately informed the bus conductor and the driver.

As the conductor and the driver did not bother to help her, Sudha got down at Harsha Bar stop and called her relatives over the phone and with their help lodged a complaint at Saraswathipuram Police Station.

The Police, who collected the bus ticket from Sudha, registered a case and took her to the bus stops where she and the unidentified woman got down. The Police conducted spot mahazar and collected footages of CCTV cameras installed near the bus stop.
