Work unitedly to bring good name to Department: ZP CEO tells PDOs

July 10, 2023

Mysore/Mysuru: Zilla Panchayat (ZP) CEO K.M. Gayathri said that Panchayat Development Officers (PDOs) should work unitedly with higher officers  and with efficiency in bringing good name to  the Department.

She was speaking after inaugurating the Pratibha Puraskar  to merit students and farewell programme for retired  PDOs and other officials, organised by the State PDOs Welfare Association at a private Hotel here recently.

Noting that most associations are faction-ridden these days, Gayathri said that, however, it is happy to note that there is no such thing in the PDOs  Welfare Association.

Pointing out that difference of opinion, discussions and deliberations, interactions and the like are key for the growth of any Association, she said that it is the responsibility of the Government staff to honour  and give a warm send off to their colleagues when they retire from service, just like what the Association has done now. She also lauded the Association for presenting Pratibha Puraskar for meritorious children of the officials.

Association Mysuru District President K. Rukmangada Kanchinakere appealed the  ZP CEO to provide a suitable building for setting up the Association Office and also to give an opportunity for PDOs and their family members to take part in the ZP officials sports meet.

ZP Deputy Secretary Dr. S. Premkumar, PDOs Nagaraj, Srinivas, Narayana, Siddappaji, Nagendra and R. Mahadeva, who retired from service recently, were felicitated on the occasion.

Also, meritorious children of the Association members — Varuna, Poornima, Pavan Gowda, Ved Aryan, K.C. Akash, Siri and Likith were felicitated.
