Wrestling competition by Ashokapuram Friends Balaga on Oct. 1

As part of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanthi, Ashokapuram Friends Balaga has organised wrestling competition on Oct. 1 at 3 pm at D. Devaraj Urs Multipurpose Stadium in city, said former Mayor Purushotham.

Addressing a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here yesterday, Purushotham said that 60 wrestlers from Nepal, Haryana, Maharashtra, Belagavi, Davangere and Mysuru district will be taking part in the 30 pair wrestling bouts in which marpit will be the major attraction.

Entry is free for the public. On the occasion, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Award, Pailwan Karagaiah Award, Pailwan D.V. Venkataiah Award, Pailwan M.L. Puttaiah Award and Pailwan Gangadhar Award will be given to the best wrestlers in the competition.

Pailwan Krishna, Siddaraju, Ravi, Abhishek and Vinash were present during the press meet.
