Mysore/Mysuru: City’s Desiranga Samskrutika Samsthe will be holding a seminar, book release and prize distribution for the winners of essay competition held in memory of late writer Prof. K. Ramdas at Kirurangamandira in Rangayana premises on June 19.

Disclosing this at a press meet at Pathrakarthara Bhavan here yesterday, Samsthe Secretary Krishna Janamana said that Advocate Prof. Ravivarma Kumar will inaugurate the programme on June 19 at 10.30 am. Later a seminar on the topic ‘Love marriages can bring changes in society: Pros and Cons’ will be held. Public can participate in the seminar. 30 couples who have had inter-caste love marriage will also participate.

Thinker Sanath Kumar Belagali will release the book ‘Prajaprabhutva mathu Vastavate’. An essay writing contest was held on the same topic and 38 candidates (27 women) from across the State have sent their essays. Thinker Dr. Vasundhara Bhupathi will present cash prizes of Rs. 3,000 (first), Rs, 2,000 (second) and Rs. 1,000 (third) to the winners, he added.

Prof. Kalegowda Nagawara, who too spoke said that Prof. Ramdas was a social activist who raised his voice against all  odds. In order to raise voice against all the inequalities taking place in and around our society, the commemoration programme is organised, he said.
